Today, we are announcing the imminent end of support for .NET 5.0 in Reports.BLAZOR and Dashboards.BLAZOR.
It is important to note that .NET 5.0 was the first framework version to support Blazor. Consequently, we continued working with this 5th version. However, regrettably, maintaining support for older versions constrains the utilization of new features and generally hinders the progress of software development.
Background
The .NET 5.0 framework version was introduced in 2020, and as of May 10, 2022, Microsoft ceased its support. This means they no longer provide bug fixes, introduce new functionality, or offer technical support for this version.It is important to note that .NET 5.0 was the first framework version to support Blazor. Consequently, we continued working with this 5th version. What's next?
Starting with Stimulsoft Reports, Dashboards, and Forms 2024.1, we will no longer distribute legacy .NET 5.0 NuGet packages for Blazor Server and Blazor WebAssembly. Instead, the packages will include libraries for .NET 6.0 (LTS) and the new .NET 8.0 (LTS).
